My name is Melissa ‘Mel’ Hurrell, I'm the creator/owner of Melhora.  I have been interested in nails all my life and after encouragement from my previous nail tech I decided to bite the bullet and gain my certificate.  I love the creative aspect that being a nail technician can offer and I love the innovative designs and ideas that others in the industry have come up with.  

I believe that we are continuously learning and I am very keen to gain further qualifications within the nail and the beauty industry. 

I have been fortunate to undertake some valuable workshops with the talented Viv Simonds (Nfu.Oh & Akzentz), Carl Anderson AKA NailZoo (Avolve), Gigi Rouse (CND) & Maureen Worrall (Avolve).  I was thrilled to attend Australia's first ever Higher Road to Education (HRTE) in April 2010, brought to Australia by Tammy Warner and featuring international educators Catherine Wong (Nfu.Oh & Odyssey Nail System) , Gina Silvestro (Akzentz)  & Viv Simonds (Nfu.Oh & Akzentz) and Australia's Young Nails educator, Chelsea Raselli.

A bit about me….  I am in my 30’s, married to my darling husband Chris, and we have one beautiful daughter, Charlie.  We moved into our new home in Adelaide’s northern suburb of Salisbury North in 2007.  I currently work full time as a Project Administrative Officer and I schedule my appointments outside of normal business hours.

Nails are my passion, I love being creative and trying new ideas.
